Nortrom は古代から続く教団 Aeol Dria によって、注意深く選定された血統を継ぐ第7世代の最後の世代として、誰も見たことのない偉大な魔術師となるべく産み出された。彼こそが予言された者。200年にわたって慎重に作ってきた血統の集大成であり、教団に栄光を、宿敵「Fold の騎士」に破壊をもたらす戦闘魔導士である。教団の指導者たちは、不毛の Hazhadal の丘にある隠れた宿営地で他の若き魔導士と共に育てられた Nortrom の能力が開花するのを待っていた。他の生徒が炎や氷、呪文などの才能を磨く間、Nortrom は静かで才能の片りんを見せず、呪いすらもかけられなかった。最後試験の日が近づいても、彼には魔術が馴染まなかった。辟易した指導者達は彼をしかりつけ、子供たちは笑った。教団の長はついに宣告した「君は魔導士ではない」と。しかし、Nortrom はこそこそと逃げ出すことはしなかった。試験の日、彼を嘲笑した若い魔導士たち相手に勇敢に立ち向かった。指導者たちはその日学んだ：魔力の欠如は最も偉大な魔術となりえることを。Nortrom は決闘で一人また一人と若き魔導士たちを沈黙させ、預言の通り、最後に Aeol Drias の戦士として立っていたものは彼であった。
