It's Gosu Monthly Madness Asia

Tickets are now available for It's Gosu's brand new tournament: Monthly Madness Asia. As the name implies, this event focuses on Asian teams and it should be a lot of fun to watch. It runs throughout the month of July.

You can find tickets on the Dota 2 Store.

Team Banners

We’ve received a lot of great feedback about the in-game team banners & base logos. To aid teams in building great banners that still fit into Dota’s art direction, we thought we’d fire off a few quick tips, and provide a wider set of banner templates to start from.

When creating a custom team set, it’s important to factor in how the environment is affected by banners and logos. While brighter/saturated colors can be used in moderation for banners, ground base logos generally call for more muted colors. A good practice is to have banners start with the desired color and intensity at the top of the banner where it’s draped over, and steadily gradient to more muted, ambient color at the bottom. Soft greens, blues and cyan are good examples of ambient colors that work with Dota’s aesthetic. The surrounding base logo background should match closely to the banner’s lower gradient color, rather than the brighter/saturated top. These 2 rules of thumb will create a custom set that has visual depth in the world, and that promotes good visibility for gameplay.

We’ve put together a new package teams can use to get their logos started, you can find it here.

Battle Points

Today we fixed several bugs with Battle Points. We also are awarding everyone with a Battle Booster extra time. Active Battle Boosters have had 3 days of time added to them. Inactive Battle Boosters (ones that expired over the weekend) have been reactivated with 3 extra days of time.

You won’t earn rewards or Battle Points if:

- You are in the low priority pool.
- You abandon a game / trigger a leaver penalty.
- You are in a practice lobby.

There is no cap on the amount of Battle Points you can earn.

We will continue to monitor the battle points system to make sure that players are properly earning points and rewards.

Please report any problems you experience in the Customization Bugs forum.

Wild Cards & other things

MUFC and M5 are the last two teams to be invited to The International. The 15th and 16th spots are reserved for the winners of the Wild Cards, you can find the list of teams invited to compete in these two tournaments at The International's page. We will be getting some help from Joindota and Gosugamers running these two events, so you can expect to see some great games starting next Wednesday.

In other news, we've fixed the issue that was preventing users outside the US from purchasing items at the Dota 2 store. We've also added some clarification on what the Dota 2 Invite item contains and how it works.

Have a good weekend!
