2020/2021 season

We're requesting that any organizations who are interested in hosting a Major or a League in the 2020/2021 DPC season email us with their proposals.

Details on what we're looking for are below.
Majors
  • Majors will require a prize pool commitment from the tournament organizer of USD 250,000, which will be matched by Valve.
  • For the events, we are looking for proposals for 3 majors in the following dates:
    • S1 Major: (Dec 11th - Dec 20th)
      • Wildcard: Dec 11th -12th
      • Group Stage: Dec 13th -14th
      • Playoffs: Dec 16th -20th
    • S2 Major: Mar 12th - Mar 21st
      • Wildcard: Mar 12th -13th
      • Group Stage: Mar 14th -15th
      • Playoffs: Mar 17th - 21st
    • S3 Major: June 25th - July 4th
      • Wildcard: Jun 25th -26th
      • Group Stage: Jun 27th - 28th
      • Playoffs: Jun 30th - Jul 4th
  • Majors will require at least 3 days in a setting with public attendance.
  • Majors will require a stream from the following languages: English, Russian, Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese.
  • Matches for each tournament day will be uploaded to the official Dota 2 Youtube channel within 2 hours of that day's conclusion.
  • Proposals should contain as many details about the tournament as possible -- location, venue, partners, sponsors, broadcast plan, number and type of talent for each language, technologies and production features, etc.


Regional Leagues
  • Each league will require a prize pool commitment from the tournament organizer of USD 140,000 per season, which will be matched by Valve.
  • We are looking for 18 total leagues, 3 seasons of each of the 6 regional leagues (South America, North America, Europe, CIS, Southeast Asia and China) in the following dates:
    • Season 1: Oct 5th - Nov 15th
    • Season 2: Jan 4th - Feb 14th (Chinese season will be compressed shorter to accommodate for Chinese New Year)
    • Season 3: Apr 12th - May 23rd
  • A bid for a league includes both upper and lower division. These cannot be applied for separately, but joint bids will be accepted.
  • Bids for individual seasons of a league will be received, but bids that propose all three seasons of a league will be prioritized.
  • Bids for multiple leagues will be received but we aren't interested in proposals that have a single organizer operating all leagues.
  • Matches for the upper division will require full studio production with panel and observers from all 3 major languages (English, Russian, Chinese). They should also provide an official stream for Spanish and Portuguese.
  • Proposals should contain as many details about the broadcast as possible (number and type of talent, broadcast plans, additional content production plans, etc.)
  • Matches for each league day will be uploaded to the official Dota 2 Youtube channel within 2 hours of that day's conclusion.
Proposals should be submitted by 3/31/2020. We will assign the Majors and Leagues no later than 4/21/2020
