Starting Items

A consumable for sustained HP regen in the laning stage. Helps you trade your HP with enemy heroes and heal back up without having to go to fountain. Provides double HP regen when eating an Iron Branch tree.
The most cost efficient stats item in Dota 2. Useful in the laning stage to have an HP, mana, and damage advantage against enemy heroes. Can be used together with a Tango for double HP regen.

Early Game Items

A core Boots upgrade to improve your mobility and damage output with attack speed and stats. Helps you farm much faster with illusions as well as save mana through stats toggling.
An early game pick up that helps you get through the laning stage with more stats. Also makes you more tanky with armor after the 25 minute mark when the stats are doubled.

Mid Game Items

A core item that gives you mobility and damage through stats. Also gives you a dispel and the ability to split push lanes with more illusions.
A core item to catch elusive enemy heroes with an instant silence and follow up with Ensnare to burst them down quickly. Builds into Bloodthorn later in the game.
A core item to make your hero and your illusions extremely tanky with HP pool and regen. Makes it extremely difficult for the enemy team to deal with your illusions.
A core item to massively increase the HP regen of your team with Song of the Siren and turn the fight from low HP.

Late Game Items

A core item to have more DPS with attack speed and stats while also boosting the tankiness of your hero and your illusions with evasion and armor.
A late game pick up to add even more control and burst damage against elusive enemy heroes. Also lowers the magical damage output of the target you hit with right clicks.

Situational Items

An early to mid game item to defend against bursts of magical damage. Also provides some useful mana regeneration.
A situational item when mana burn has high value, such as playing against Medusa or high strength cores with low mana pool. Lets you slow down enemy heroes to follow up with Ensnare to burst them down.
A unique item that provides debuff immunity against most disables and provides a dispel on cast. Also improves your right click damage and tankiness through HP pool and magic resistance.
A late game pick up to increase the cast range of Ensnare and bring enemy heroes closer to your team with Reel In.
A powerful defensive tool to block single target disables and debuffs. Also provides effective damage through stats for universal heroes.
