Author's Ability Notes


Consider Whriling Death both as a debuff and as a damage-dealer. This works great alongside Timber Chain. 1. Open with Chakram to keep foes in-range 2. Timber-Chain in a direction that crosses them. 3, Activate Whirling Death as you pass them Great during the laning phase to harass and tear down enemies regularly while you focus on last-hitting.
Timber Chain is your Escape and ability to move quickly in team-fights. With it's low cooldown, incredible range and great damage. This ability works wonders to deal the necessary hurt you need. Spam this as it is off cooldown, to keep yourself on the move, kiting foes and dishing damage on way.
Reactive Armor is a great tool for tanking creeps and farming while also keeping you alive in battle. Use this early point to take some hits from creeps. Juggle your stacks to maintain strong armour and health regen. This should mitigate any harassment in lane. Split attacks on you (Luna's Moon Glaives & Medusa's Split Shot) do not give stacks to your Reactive Armor.
Chakram is a great way to control of the battle and keep your opponents at bay or keep them from running. If doing solid with your Blood Stone, you can keep this on for long periods of time as most of your damage comes from your abilities, not your attacks.

+{s:value}% Whirling Death Attribute Reduction : The reduction in whirling death is great for certain heroes and generally preferred when you're ahead and winning comfortable. If you're dying a lot, the strength increase can significantly argument your health-pool and right-click damage.

Eat a tree with your Iron Branch to improve your regeneration greatly!
Use Iron Branch to place a Tree near enemies to then Timber Chain them for damage. Get creative with your Iron Branches and purchase more if necessary!

Early (Buy regen if low)

Soul Ring combos greately with Timbersaw's Reactive Armor and stats: extra health and more mana to cast spells with little downside as he easily regenerates the lost life back.

Core (Required, in order)

Be sure to disassemble your boots to make Bloodstone, Lotus Orb or other related items quicker.
Activate Hood of Defiance to reduce nuking abilities that tear you down fast.
Lotus Orb punishes key magic users that target you to specifically nuke you down. Heroes like Lina or Lion and their ultimates are key examples of abilities to use Lotus Orb on. To add, the armour and manapool increase are complimentary to Timbersaw. Lastly, Lotus Orb can dispel additional silences from preventing you from fighting or escaping.

Situation (only if needed)

Eul's primary focus is to dispel any silences that prevent you from fighting or escaping. Eul's a foe to then trap them with your Chakram: 1. Cast Eul's on an enemy 2. Chakram (and Agh's Chakram) onto foe 3. Follow-up with Timber Chain 4. Whirling Death as you pass by (or if they are near trees)
Pipe of Insight provides your team with better sustainability against tough magic casters and carries that can wipe your team up incredibly fast if they're frail to magic types.
Heaven's Halberd provides more survivability through evasion. To add, it also increases your life-steal/regeneration, reduces stuns and can disable foes.
Nothing is more annyoing than being prevented from spamming your abilities. Definitely consider Black King Bar if the circumstances rings true above.
As an additional dispel, Greaves can remove silences or slows that prevent you from engaging in fights. To add, it is also a great item for the team to sustain in fights.

Extension (choice, Any order)

Eternal Shroud works in two values: 1. The damage you receive is reduced by the spell shield and magic resistance. 2. The spell lifesteal from the damage you deal.
The second Chakram can be used to either continue the slow on foes or a constant burst damage by throwing it out and returning it (while the first one slows the enemy) Be wary of your mana as both Chakrams will cost you a lot.
Shiva's Guard is a great defensive item to increase your armor while also staving off strong physical carries wtih your nuke aura. Against tanky enemies, this item is also recommended to reduce their sustainability through regeneration or lifesteal.
Octarine Core is the creme de la creme for Timbersaw. The cooldown reduction is huge for Timbersaw and the lifesteal will make you in fights constantly and without fear of dying. If you can go for it, get it as soon as possible.
Without this, you will not have the mana to survive in battle and spam your abilities, ultimately bringing though your utility. Timbersaw fights with his abilities, Bloodstone ensures you can fight continuously.

Other Items

Use Enchanted Mango to either give yourself the need mana to escape or pursue an enemy for the kill. Just holding the mango will give you health regen, so use it when needed.
Linken's Sphere is needed towards abilities that completely disables you. Heroes like Doom and Necrophos, are abilities that stifle or kill you entirely to which you want to negate. Linken's Sphere enables you to keep going and not fear those kinds of game-ending ultimates.
