Your main nuke and heal. Max early. Also, this skill stacks great with your ultimate. Be sure to use to when your ultimate is active.
Because of mana issues I like having just 1 level into shield early and maxing it later. However, it is possible maxing shield early game for it's 6 second cool down. If you do this skip passive and max Mist Coil with Shield.
Early level in passive is good to harass your opponents. If you combine this with orb of venom early it will land you kills.
Your ult is great get at level 6. Activate when you are about to get nuked for a lot of damage.

Good item for Abaddon. Fixes mana problems, lets you control the runes and support your team well with heals.
Phase boots is best choice for Abaddon because of great mobility stacking with his passive.
Magic wand will help you in team fights by giving you extra mana and hp to survive.
Early bracer for hp. Should be upgraded to Drum of Endurance.
This is an optional early game item that stacks great with Abaddons passive. If you are leveling passive early this is a good choice.

Good team item fixes Abaddons mana and stacks great with his passive.
Sange & Yasha is usually not a good choice of an item. But on Abaddon it's great. It gives him a ton of hp and move speed. Having phase boots, drum and sny will give you permanent max speed.
Extended core
Great team item. If your team doesn't have this by the time you get your core items, get it yourself.
Great item for the team and for Abaddon. But only if your team needs it. If not better buy one of situational items.
Situational
Shiva is always a great late game item. If no one on your team has it and you need some anti carry item this is a good choice.
Assault is a great team item, always a good choice if there isn't one on the team already.
If you are main tank for the team this might be a good choice.
Great late game item if you need carry potential.
Ultimate upgrade isn't that great on aghanims but there might be situation where this would be a decent choice.
Abaddon with blink dagger can catch and slow down anyone.
If the game goes longer than 40 minutes it is a good idea to sub phase boots for boots of travel.
If your team needs pushing/detection this is a great item for Abaddon.
If your team needs wards, buy them. You are not a hard carry and should help your team with vision/detection if needed.
