Author's Ability Notes


Early Game: Use this to harass in lane and secure last hits on ranged creeps and enemy heroes, especially those with low mobility. It’s also useful for setting up kills when you’re ready to engage. Mid to Late Game: Throw it at fleeing enemies to slow them down or when initiating a fight to create distance between you and your opponent. It’s your primary way of engaging or forcing enemies to react.
Toggle Phantom Rush on and off in lane to secure last hits when running in to hit a low health creep or to harass an enemy hero.
You can skill this spell on level 1 or 2 if there`s a need for dispel. Otherwise, you can delay skilling this spell to level 4 if there`s no need for dispel. Early Game: Use it to dodge enemy spells or escape ganks. If you’re under threat, this ability can create a quick window to juke or avoid incoming damage. Mid to Late Game: Use Doppelganger to confuse enemies in team fights or to escape when you’re outnumbered. You can also use it offensively to dodge enemy disables, especially when you see them casting spells. It’s a great tool to reposition and avoid damage.

Starting

A consumable for sustained HP regen in the laning stage. Helps you trade your HP with enemy heroes and heal back up without having to go to fountain. Provides double HP regen when eating a tree planted using an Iron Branch.
The most cost efficient stats item in Dota 2. Useful in the laning stage to have an HP, mana, and damage advantage against enemy heroes. Can be used together with a Tango for double HP regen.
Start with it if you expect a high frequency of spells from enemy heroes on the lane.

Early Game

Start with Magic Stick if you expect high frequency of spells from enemy heroes on the lane.
Phylactery is going to give you all the sustain you need on the lane that allows you to spam Spirit Lance on the offlaner to bully them out of lane. Later in the lane, you can use this on hard jungle camps.
A core Boots upgrade to improve your mobility and damage output with attack speed and stats. Helps you farm much faster with illusions as well as save mana through stats toggling.

Mid Game

A core item that gives you mobility and damage through stats. Also gives you a dispel and the ability to split push lanes with more illusions.
A situational item to have an escape through invisibility when in trouble. Also gives you an extra illusion to confuse enemy heroes.

Late Game

A core item to have more DPS with attack speed and stats while also boosting the tankiness of your hero and your illusions with evasion and armor.
A core item to make your hero and your illusions extremely tanky with HP pool and regen. Makes it extremely difficult for the enemy team to deal with your illusions.
A late game pick up to add even more control and burst damage against elusive enemy heroes. Also lowers the magical damage output of the target you hit with right clicks.
A core item to significantly increase the tankiness and damage of your hero and your illusions through stats. Works well against lifesteal and high HP regen dependent enemy heroes. Reduces the movement speed and HP sustain of enemy heroes you hit to make them less durable and stay on top of them.

Situational

Reduces to duration of most Crowd Control effects in the game and empowers healing, sustain and lifesteal. Particularly effective against Debuff Immunity piercing abilities or ones that cannot be dispelled.
A right click damage item to pierce evasion and miss chance on enemy heroes.
A unique item to dispel enemy heroes and take off most buffs from spells and items that prevent you from right-clicking them freely.
An upgrade for Shadow Blade primarily for the break effect against passive spells on enemy heroes. Also improves your damage output and mobility through invisibility to get in and out of fights.
A powerful defensive tool to block single target disables and debuffs. Also provides effective damage through stats for universal heroes.
A situational item that maintains your kill threat and split push potential on the map more often by reducing the cooldown of all your spells and items. Works well with Aghanims Scepter to spam Spirit Lance for fighting and farming.
